Perception and Reasoning through Intelligent Synthesis and Modeling

Welcome to the PRISM Lab at Korea University, led by Hyungjin Chung. We develop generative models and agents—and better ways to guide and align them—so that intelligent systems can reason, create, and act in complex real-world settings.

Research

We believe that better models create better intelligence, while better guidance and alignment turn that intelligence into breakthroughs. Our work connects foundational research with computational imaging, medical AI, AI4Science, physical AI, and industrial applications.

Explore our research directions
  • Generative AI and agents

We study better modeling choices for efficient and coherent generation, including unified multimodal generative models and visual agents that can understand, decompose, and create complex artifacts.

  • Video generation and world models

We develop video generative models that are physically plausible, controllable, and capable of predicting how the world evolves.

  • Video understanding

We aim to help models understand events coherently over time through better representations, temporal reasoning, and alignment—rather than treating video as a loose collection of frames.

  • Inverse problems and computational imaging

We develop general theory and measurement-aware algorithms that use generative priors to recover an unknown world from incomplete, noisy, or indirect measurements.

  • Medical AI and AI4Science

We target concrete challenges in modern medicine, including medical image reconstruction, medical report generation, segmentation, and digital therapeutics.
